“The Plant’s Tale”
Northern Light Theatre Company’s next performance is the comedy/horror rock musical
“Little Shop of Horrors”.
The story is musically chronicled by three street urchins called Crystal, Ronette and Chiffon. It involves a poor orphan, Seymour, who has been raised by Mr Mushnik, owner of the florist where Seymour works. Seymour is secretly in love with co-worker, Audrey, whose boyfriend treats her badly. The business is failing, and Mushnik decides to close the shop, but at the last minute, customers flock there to see a strange plant which Seymour has collected, and the business is saved.
All is set for a happy ending, but such are the growing appetite of Audrey II and the twists and turns of this magical musical that The Plant is ultimately the victor. To reveal the ending would ruin the tale. So come along to see for yourself, and enjoy the musical score as the story heads for a dramatic climax.
The performance is Directed by Ceri Horner with Gordon Combes as Musical Director and Choreography by Sue Pole.
The cast includes Amy Hutchinson as Audrey, Dave McGillivray as Seymour Krelborn, David Salter as Orin Scrivello and Rohan Watts as Audrey 2 Voice. Crystal, Ronette and Chiffon are played by Michelle Pearson, Michelle Davy, and Lisa Somoetti respectively.
“The Shop” will open for business at The Shedley Theatre and will run April 5, 6, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20: 8pm; Matinee April 13: 2.00pm.
